Origem: Inglesa
Significado: A palavra folclore é aceita internacionalmente desde 1878. A expressão apareceu pela primeira vez na imprensa publicada na revista The Athenaeum, há cerca de 150 anos. O texto, do arqueólogo inglês William John Thoms, propunha o estudo de culturas diversas. O autor sugeria a junção das palavras folk (povo) e lore (sabedoria) para designar tal ocupação.

Língua estrangeira pra quê?

Não há como fugir. Por mais que estejamos no Brasil, as línguas estrangeiras penetram no vocabulário do nosso dia a dia. E quando menos esperamos, passam a fazer parte da nossa vida. Às vezes, nem sabemos que determinadas palavras têm origem em outro idioma e a falamos sem saber o significado. Pense nisso!
